Weird Recycling Centers

There are certain special items that can be recycled, but must be sorted differently than other, more common recyclable items. Students and staff can take these “weird recycling” items to a Weird Recycling Center on campus – including cables/cords, plastic bags, ink cartridges, small batteries, and eyeglasses. There are three Weird Recycling Centers on campus at the following locations:

• First floor of the Popp Martin Student Union, between the main atrium and the food court.
• Lowest level of Prospector beside the elevator (same level as Repros and Mail Services).
• Lowest level of SoVi near the entrance to the dining hall.

Student organizations can also use the Weird Recycling Centers as a collection drive space

The Weird Recycling Centers were made possible by the Charlotte Green Initiative, a student committee that allocates funds to support sustainability projects across campus.
